'Everybody doesn't want to be free, but rather they want only to be safe'
This idea tells that in everything we do we think first of our safety. The success of the company depends on its quality, productivity and safety. When one the item above is not available, then the success of that company is not attainable.
This is the reason why I myself is interested in safety. Be it is a safety management of safety engineering. What is the difference between the two?
Safety engineering concerns with the actual prevention of accident in the workplace like redesigning the system to prevent accident, eliminating the possible sources of the accident, revising the process, controlling the hazard, what are the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) to be used.
Safety management on the other hand concern the things we need to do with our people for them to attain safety. This things may be in the form of training them. Making some policies and procedure on safety. It may be rules and regulations on safety ans so on.
Very seldom that I seen any study that works on safety here in Baguio City specially if it is applied to school or university. That's why I want to concentrate more on the aspect of safety as applied in a university.
